Ruling: Any vehicle can be imported to
use as a Race or Rally (or Drift) vehicle under this scheme,
HOWEVER a vehicle
imported under this scheme can never be licenced for normal
road use. To satisfy the import application you must prove
the intent of race or rally use. The usual proof supplied with
the import application is a copy of a CAMS licence, although
if you are planning to join a racing body later you can supply
a statutory declaration outlining your racing history/association
and your intentions to race the vehicle. If supplied a CAMS
licence must be that of the importer of the vehicle.
Compliance: There is no formal compliance required for race or rally
vehicles. These vehicles can usually be licenced with restrictions
that allow them to travel to and from sanctioned race events
and for mechanical repairs.
